I've been carrying a Kimber lifeact (aka "Jet Protector", "Dogshock" and "Guardian angel") for years, but never fired a unit until today in my garden, just to try it out. I fired from 1.5-2m distance. I used a shovel as my taget (as big as a head) and both shots were a hit. The target got the full load! That stuff is nasty I tell ya! I don't want to get a shot into my eyes, that's for sure!
If you take the time to figure out how to hold and aim it, it's pretty easy, because the design makes sense. I don't know why the guy in the promo video nearly missed... You can hold it like a pistol (use both hands! Your other hand can hold a flashlight if necessary!) and aim it instinctively.
It's still pretty expensive in the USA - here in Europe a unit costs only half as much. (20€
With my empty unit, I can practise drawing, aiming and pulling the trigger even better now.
If you can't carry a gun and think pepperspray is not reliable enough, try a Kimber lifeact. It conceals easily, has a clip, is flat (which makes it easier to carry than a pepperspray) and very lightweight, so you don't have an excuse to leave it at home, summer or winter. I think the design is superior to a spray can - you can't grab it in a wrong way!
I'm getting more units for shooting training. (multiple targets, different distances)
What are your experiences? What do you think about the Kimber lifeact?
