Bill: Just received the cap today, and Kimberly is thrilled with it.
Our only problem may be getting it off her at bedtime. I used to tell her that she was tough enough to be a Marine.
You might enjoy this story. When she was a little girl, I told her one day not to be hitting people, but that if it ever became absolutely necessary to back someone off, not to hit overhand like a girl, but to punch straight for the nose. I showed her how to jab. She matured very early, and by ninth grade she was a petite, stacked little thing. One day I got a call at work from the asst. principal at her school, telling me to come get her, that she was suspended for two days. When I got to school, the asst. principal told me the story. A boy sitting in back of her couldn't keep his hands to himself. The first time he reached around and touched her, she told him that he had better not do it again. The second time, she threw the jab to the nose, knocking him in the floor and turning his desk over, accompanied by laughter from the class. Automatic suspension for two days. I told the principal that I would take her home, but I would in no way punish her, that I was pleased by what she did. He grinned and said, "me too." Can you imagine the humiliation for a junior high boy getting punched out by a little girl?
Bill, this was a very thoughtful gift. Thanks again.
