Took my now only dog for a walk today. Beta and max have been having lots of troubles as of late. Beta is getting to be a bit of a wicked bitch and the territoriality between her and him and their daily bickering and nipping was getting on the wife's nerves. So we found max a home with a nice family and yet another bitch (young female dog) to contend with. Didn't really want to move max out, but he is the friendlier one and the new family really seem attracted to his 'poor doggy' situation. The female pub that he is now living with is very friendly and the two of them got off to a great start even though max was still pretty nervous on introducing them.
Today Beta seems a bit down on the whole thing, although she is a million miles calmer being the only dog in the house again. I think the middle ground of trying to maintain her dominance on max while being second to the humans was a confusing stress on her too. She seems to understand her place in the home better.
So we had our first solo walk today in a long a while. Walk was good albeit uneventful. Beta doesn't stray nearly as much when she is just with me and that makes the walking a bit easier.
I went back to that old downed cotton tree and harvested another limb. I had my Breeden cub knife out with me today. This was the model that Bearthedog designed. This particular knife has seen a few hands, first in Brian Andrew's inventory, then purchased by JeffH and underwent a review by him, followed by being touched all over by Spooky, next Mntfolk Mike and then too me. Despite, being a dirty little whore of a knife (sloppy 5ths anyone?) it is a great blade. Thick, micarta handle and a blade profile, enhanced by JeffH, that is just killer sharp.
Also had a little snack, Liptons cup o soup, yum! The snow peak camp soloist is a great little cook set. I think I'm going to buy another set to go in my second water bottle holder.
Also had the Rucksack SAK along for the ride. Its almost always along for the ride as I just love the large saw on this model. A special thanks to Fonly who gifted this one to me a while back. Its a constant companion even if it doesn't get a whole lot of photo play.
Parting glam shot of that Breeden CUB. For anybody looking for a custom, compact, hard duty little blade at a great price this is a really worthwhile model to consider!
