Kinda diggin' cliplessness...

For the past three years I've alternated my clip on my small Seb with the clip insert/G2 sheath combo. Lately, I've been toting it exclusively clipless with the insert in my pocket, and in the G2 sheath on the weekends.

The small Seb in particular, IMHO anyway, feels much better in the hand when cutting without the clip.

Any similar experiences?

For some reason, I have never been a fan of the clip. The knife feels more natural without it. Recently I received a large and have since removed the clip as it rides in my back pocket by my wallet...usually after work because I can't carry a knife anymore due to security. I've also alternated sheath and clip carry with the small, but found that most of the time the clip remains in the drawer. Never tried a clip insert though...kinda like the look without it.

Small sebs are easy to carry without the clip and fit comfortably in your pocket. However, that large seb needs a clip unless you use a leather slip cover. In fact I think I'll carry my wood inlay ( buckeye burl)tomorrow in it's slip cover.

It would be a crime to put a clip on my mammoth ivory Mnandi. It just wouldn't be right. I carry that one clipless. While I agree that the knife feels better without the clip, it does so at the expense of utility. I don't like wearing things on my belt and I do like to have the instant access that the clip affords.

I always like to carry any of my 3" or shorter blades without the clip. The clip just doesn't feel right in/on the hand with a knife having such a small handle. I also feel it's a much more descreet way to carry a knife. I have a sheath made for me that carries a knife, a space pen, and my surefire E1e in one convienent package. Some knives I take the clip off Atwood Solar Arc, Sm Seb, Mnandi w/ snakewood, BM705M2CF, mini-AFCK, and so on. On a bigger knife I do clip it.
