But it was also a brand ive never seen either... WEST-CUT USA. model # on the back of the main blade- 335. maybe super-Coder will know possibly a camillus product or some cousin of the schrade camillus family??????? price was right next to free so how could I resist...- Joel As usual my pics suck get use to it!!

Yes, West-Cut is a trade name used by Western Cutlery. Some of Western's knives were made for them by others like Schrade and Camillus. the trademark WEST-CUT:

WESTERN STATES CUTLERY COMPANY CORPORATION COLORADO BOULDER COLORADO; FIRST USE: 1954-07-13. FIRST USE IN COMMERCE: 1954-07-13; Filing Date March 9, 1955; Registration Date February 28, 1956

The trademark was renewed this past March by Ontario.

Thanks codger!!!! thats pretty neat to hear!!! So it was a good find. Its pretty amazing that what seems like a large percentage of usa made knives one finds have ties one way or another to schrade or camillus. I know weve been over this and there cousins tons of times but its always great to be refreshed . Thanks again- Joel

Compare it closely to other knives you have and you might be able to match it to a Western, Schrade or Camillus. Others may have made some knives for them at some point as well. And of course, Western made some knives of their own. So I can't tell you the maker of this one. Maybe someone else can.
