kinda O.T. CBS News report

I expect that the government will be very successful dulling sharp weapons through laws and restrictions, just as it was in dulling sharp minds through the dumbing down of the education system.

Let them raise their teenagers to respect their fellow humans and to handle sharp weopons properly. Until then, give me something to protect myself from them.

Holy cow. I was expecting automatic assault weapons or explosives, or chemical weapons. I'm going to find me an island somewhere where the liberal pussies will stay the hell away. Jeez Louise. Swords near a school! A damn car is much more dangerous than a sword. I'm just flabbergasted. There's no damn hope for this society. Sorry for the rant, but the whole tone of the article is so.................................

I can't even continue.

That is outrageous! Gotta love the 4th Estate's diligent work to stir up a controversy...

1. So the city brings him up on charges...
2. case dismissed...
3. "oh, your honor, we collected some 'evidence' through entrapment." ...
4. Scandalous news at 6!
5. Make profit.

:grumpy:

Ben; the Gov didn't do that conspiratorialy, it just happened. They threw money at it. I don't know the 'Gov' did it anyway- as much as people- the same kind of people who watch CBS stories about swords and blades.

I find that "news" very disturbing. I live close to a school, if some one was to go in my kitchen they could find a KNIFE!
I could see the head line "Deadly weapons found in home near school"

:barf:

Well, gentlemen, I just emailed them asking if anyone was hurt by the man's business or if students had carried any of the weapons to school. The obvious answer is "no" or they would have reported it. So I then suggested they stick to reporting news instead of manufacturing it to suit an agenda.

Tell it like it is.

My two cents worth.

Now everyone's Koresch?

Looks like he's turning out props, for live-action role playing er sumthin.

The whole piece is a study in sensationalism.

That does it...people are idiots. So let it be written.

Has CBS addressed Medieval instruments of death like the axe, hoe, rake and shovel?

We are doomed to the appearence of a thing being that thing.

"NEW YORK (CBS) A CBS 2 investigation has uncovered some of the deadliest weapons imaginable on sale for anyone to buy inside a home in a local neighborhood..."

"uncovered some of the deadliest weapons imaginable"
and I repeat
" uncovered some of the deadliest weapons imaginable"

They need to try harder.I understand the damage that can be done with a sword or even the dreaded FLAIL!!!!!!!!!!!, but come on. I bet the person who did the story didn't even know what a flail was until they were shown one in person. What's next,"Tonight at six local man lifts weights and practice deadly martial arts!!!!!" Watch out Danny (inJapan) you might just make the news.

Sounds less like news and more like advertising.

I should start running people over on the freeway so they'll ban cars. That would not only eliminate one more vicious weapon from the ignorant masses, but it would also help curb global warming :footinmou

Munk, who do you think imposes standards and restrictions on schools and teachers that mandate that no student shall be kept back regardless of his level of achievement because it might damage his self-esteem.

Who do you think lowers the educational standards to make a "level playing field" for underachieving minority students?

Who do you think redirects education funding from the classroom to administration so it can be used for grants and contracts to "consultants" and others from the private sector.

Even though this happens at the state and local level, it's still THE GOVERNMENT that does it.

Well, Ben, you can say the Govt did it- I'll not disagree in that context. But before the Govt did it, it was the People who wanted it- represented in major part by the media and Democratic party. Politicians got votes catering to various interests and offering 'reforms'.

Even today, the Democratic party believes the reason their reforms did not work was because we did not spend enough money on them.

I tell you- the Democrats are the status quo today- the one who resist the change they used to associate with themselves. I never thought I'd see any Democratic party against school vouchers, for instance.

This is just disgusting. The pussification of society. Has anyone here tried to buy any fireworks lately? Last year for the first time in many years (at the behest of my kids) I managed to find a place to legally use the "safe & sane" fireworks, and a medium box of the things set me back $90.

The BIGGEST foot tall cone shot a tower of small smoky sparks an entire two and a half feet into the air. Wow. When I was a kid 20 feet was more like it. What a joke. But that's OK. It's for "the chirren!" God forbid someone might get their eye put out! Horrors!

Next thing, make all kitchen knives dull so some ass doesn't cut himself while slicing his tofu.

If they think gun collectors are fanatics about their collections, wait till they try to stop people from collecting knives and swords.

Meddling bambiist fear-mongering castrated fools...

i thought nuclear bombs were the deadliest weapons imaginable....
I wrote her an email and told her she just insulted millions of Americans who attend ren faires every year.
I am betting she didnt do her homework before she did that crap article.

You know the simpsons did a joke about this once.
Kent brockman was talking aon the news about the local springfield army base and said it was a "mysterious compound where killers were trained to kill people with guns, a kill-bot factory."
