Kinda quiet in here eh?

There was an old thread where people posted pictures (with specs) of their favorite knives.

We could revive that thread, but I think it might be better to start a new one. Even though most will be HI knives, I think it should be ok to include non-HI knives, especially vintage blades from other regions or ethnicities.

As an example, here is an oversized Kris of Philippine origin, probably made shortly after the end of WWII. There were thousands of brass shell casings strewn about everywhere, and some of them became knife fittings. I think many of these knives were sold to American GIs, since the Filipinos were mostly very poor. This one has "Philippines" lightly engraved on the blade, another sign that it was made for sale to Americans.

Overall length is 22", weight 22oz. Handle is either buffalo horn or ironwood; I've never been able to figure out which. The tang goes all the way through the handle and is peened over with a huge brass washer.

The blade had a lot of light tarnishing, but it cleaned up well, as you can see.
