my g-father carried a folding Kinfolk knife until he died in 1973. i never saw it, but my father says it was about 6" long, with pearl or bone grips? i know this isn't much to go on, but i would love to locate one to buy. pix would give something to id.

any ideas?

They made a lot of different patterns. Pehaps you should get Levine's Guide #4, and check out the different patterns to give you (and us) a hint of what your g-pa had. It was not likely as long as you remember. A 6" folder (closed) is a BIG knife!

A year or so ago I saw some Kinfolks folders in various places but I think they were repros, I don't know who was really making them. You could ask Ron Ryder, I think he's had some in stock at one point. You can find his e-mail at his website, cutters and collectors.
