Out of curiousity, do you find this blade comfortable to use one handed? I have the 30" model and it seems much better suited to using with two hands - I need to chock up on the grip a bit. I look at mine not so much as a knife but as a short slashing sword. Using a two handed grip I can really give heavy cardboard targets some serious smacks!

with that, you are only referring to the 30" model, right?

Without a doubt!!!
I never intended to use it as a "khukuri", but rather as a sword (and I wouldn't really call it a "short"
sword, either!!). I can hardly swing it with one hand. I love katanas (and intend to acquire an Everest model in the future) and just had to have one of these when I first saw them. Contrary to the warnings of many HI forum members to stay away from the 30" model, I got one anyway... and love it. The only problem is that I wish the handle was a little longer to accomodate 2 hands instead of the hand-and-a-half. Since they are no longer available (and also maybe a tad heavy) I will not be using it and may just have to get a 25" now. Guess you can add me to the HIKV list now!!!!!

Orion,
Glad you like the Kobra. I hope it serves you well. Be safe,
