After staring at the Mini Samaritan pictures and videos around the net I couldn't help myself and ordered one with limited bronze anodized finish and acid etched blade before they were all gone. These knifes appear to be sort of a semi custom/production knife designed by Kingdom armory and built in low numbers. First I was expecting a EDC type knife small/lite enough to carry everyday in slacks/jeans/shorts yet still be rugged and useful not only in urban but also rural settings to match my job and lifestyle. Well yes the Mini Samaritan does fit that bill the knife is smaller close to my small Reeves 21 but the blade design of the Samaritan lends it to performing bigger task. What does that mean, well I would have no problem skinning a deer if needed with the mini Samaritan infact the blade shape tends to favor such a task.Overall it think the size and design make it a great Mutli-purpose EDC knife that can be concealed/carried easy, cut boxes open, cut food, skin game, and if needed a last ditch weapon defend yourself while on a evening stroll(my pistol would be my first choice). Now that all of that is dicussesd we will move on to fit and finish: First the knife looks great like nothing else I own so the coolness factor is high. The bronze finish and acid etched blade give the knife a old weathered look very nice and eye appealing for me while other people may perfer a brand new look. The workmanship appears to be what I have come to expect from a semi-custom production knife very solid lock up around 40% with no blade movement at all. The sharpness
Was ok out of the case but not hair popping sharp I will fix that soon. The knife is smooth every where but when you go to release the lock up its alittle strong/scratchy feeling to me. I think it just needs to be played with to smooth it on out time will tell. I know people will ask is it worth the asking price? Well if you want something very few others have, love knifes and different designs and last use a knife daily like me the price isn't bad when you factor how much I carry a knife. Are there other knifes out there in the same price range maybe smoother, maybe better fit finish maybe so. I think this knifes strong points are very cool usefull design for daily EDC and very strong build should last for many, many years to come. I'm happy with the knife overall glad I bought it if I had to pick something to complain about maybe it should have been alittle smoother out the case for the price point this model sells at? That said I can feel it smoothing out fast with use.
