I'm thinking about ordering one of these. Does anybody have any experience with them? Are they worth the money? I realize I could make my own and save a bundle, but time is at a premium for me and I like the idea of knowing what I'm getting, and getting it quickly. Any thoughts?

I've thought about it but the length is pretty short. It's something like 56 inches. I think something more like 64 inches would be more ideal for me at 6' tall. If you get one be sure to post a review. They seem (from the website) to be pretty nice.

I have one that I bought off the exchange here. Holding up very well thru 2, 4 season years. It's 15/16ths and 56" tall, L6 Grade Hickory. I'm 6.0 - #210 and the 56" length is fine although another inch or two would be a plus. If your under 6', I'd go with the 56".
It's held my weight hopping ditches and creeks, been a fire poker, tarp pole, lean on seat (stretched across two saplings) and has persuaded a couple unleashed aggressive dogs that they might want to leave me alone.
I'd buy another in a heartbeat. I have never done anything to it but will give it a good once over before this next winter.

That is how I shot it but I don't recall the numbers.
That's a 11 year old Sony DSC-S70 Cyber-Shot 3.3MP.

Thanks for the replies! I placed my order yesterday. I'm sure I'll be pleased with it.

What is the difference between thier walking stick and their Akido Jo
Even when you upgrade the wood to thier level 5, it is still cheaper than a walking stick

I believe the difference is in length, the hiking stick being about a foot longer IIRC, and the fact the hiking stick has a carbide tip. You can see the tip in the pic above.
