I finished this just before OKCA and thought I would put it up today since the show starts a little later on Sunday. I don't have a tape measure with me so the dimensions are an estimate. Let me know what you think. If you are in Eugene come on by table S-15. Thanks Todd

Another fine example of your work, Todd.......I still need to get pictures posted of the great piece I got from you awhile back. :)

very nice, wonder if the corners of the handle are a bit sharp or more rounded than the pic shows?
Dave

Thanks for the comments. Darrel, you take nice pictures so I'd love to see your picture of the integral you got from me. I think the picture of this one exaggerates the shape of the corners a bit. It feels nice in the hand and no one who has actually picked up the knife has commented on it as an issue. Actually I was just thinking of an incident that happened at the Eugene show, a man and his son, who was about twelve, were looking at my knives. The boy picked this one up, held it and said, "It's real ergonomic." I am not making that up, I was more impressed that he knew what ergonomic meant than anything else. I will try taking some different views of the handle.

Very nice work !

did you carve the blade with a dremel/foredom or use files?

Bill

I use a Foredom or die grinder with about a 1/16" X 2" abrasive wheel to rough out the fuller. Then I use files and sandpaper and lots of fussing. If you get the first groove the way you want it the wheels and files tend to follow the line. I also cut the fuller while the blade is still thicker than finished so that when you grind the blade it cleans up the outer lines of the fuller.

I enjoyed handling your knives at the show. The carving looks really good, I can imagine it takes vision and guts to grind into an almost finished blade and handle. You seem to pull it off beautifully.

Thanks Bruce I was really glad to talk to you at the show, your words of encouragement mean a lot. I have been thinking a lot about ideas on knife designs too. Todd
