Hi all

I'm seriously torn between these two beauties (no I can't get both!). Is there anyone out there who can offer an opinion or comparison?

I'm trying to figure whether the price difference between the two is justified.

So far the Wayfarers are looking at about $850 (I have to factor in 30% import tax to get to the UK) and I've found one Blitz going for about $1400.

Thanks guys let me know

( For some reason I can't post pix of the ones I like via tapatalk)

Kirby makes a great knife. One thing about his that stands out to me are the thicker liners. He optimized scale thickness/contouring and blade stock thickness such that every knife feels incredibly solid AND has a compact hand feel. I've handled a few at shows and haven't found one I didn't like! Overall size wise I think his 4" models will be comparable to ours. What I hear a lot from customers is that our knife is bigger than they had thought. His Blitz is listed at 3.5" blade/8" overall. Our wayfarer is 9.25" overall and the blade is 4" from end of handle to tip, and has a 4.125" cutting edge.

I had a chance to handle both at the Miami show last weekend. They are both great knives and you cannot go wrong with either. Both knives offer a very sturdy feel in hand, flip solidly, and are very smooth.

I don't know where you saw the Blitz for $1400, but just for reference at the show the basic models were listed at $800, and the higher end models with Timascus and Zirconium clips were $1200. I almost ended up buying a blue lscf model with marbled cf bolsters and a zirconium clip. They were on display a True North Knives Table, Kirby was not able to attend the show so Neal gave him some table space. I would contact Neal and see if any of them are still available.

Here are some horrible quality cell phone pictures:

Sorry don't know Neal but I checked the True North website & all they had was a sold MGT.

Thanks for the reply

Tip: I've just finished shooting (12) of Kirby's folders for Neil at Miami. He will post soon, so BE READY.

The Wayfarer is also a great knife. Good choices.

Sorry, but no. I don't want to go beyond Neil's normal routine.

I highly suggest you contact HIM and mention this thread. info@truenorthknives.com.

That's as much as I can offer.

Good luck!

Jim

Any chance you can post or email me the pix? And or let me know the specs?

Just so you know, that is bad form.....on or offline.

That was asking Coop to bite the hand that feeds, and frankly, I suggest you learn from it and don't do it again.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Please accept my apologies & I got that impression by his answer - my intention was not to cause offence, nor was it to place Coop or anyone in an uncomfortable position.

I am learning much by asking questions.

Additionally I get that you are HUGE on the forum & within this community but if you feel the need to reprimand me and/or offer me polite advice regarding my etiquette can it please be done in private rather than for all to see as this is the sort of thing that can derail a perfectly good thread.

Kind regards & again, no offence intended.

Anyone out there use these knives as edc?

How do they perform with use & abuse?

I'm not interested in resale temptation as it would be a long term blade - I'm no collector.

So how are they regarding 'use'

Anyone?

Or does anyone know if a decent 'field' review? I can only find videos of people holding and (quite rightly) drooling over them [emoji7]

Not to resurrect the dead, but I'd jump on a Lambert Blitz if found. I did email truenorth as suggested above...thanks
