Hi, this is my first thread in this forum.
I'm going to show you my last job made all by myself only ecception is the hardening process.
Steel is AISI A2 hardened at 60hrc with cryo treatment at -196 C°.
All the process after the hardening are hand made. Mirror finish in the Hira zone are made first with water stones then with micro mesh up to 10000 grits. First bevel is at 14 degrees and worked just with japan water stones up tp 5000 grits.
Shape is Hamaguri edge an secondary bevel is at 24 degrees sharpen up to 10000 grits on flat water stones.
Handle is in Ziricote wood with a Walnut strip, spacer in maple and black Ebony, no glue needed for fix the tang to the handle, just pressed in.
Saya is rosewood with strip in walnut, pin is Ipé
