Kismet & Munk

Naw, not fer nuthin'. You did some good stuff. Sorta like what people say about Christmas, It's the thought that counts. Good deeds are hard to come by, and good people are in even shorter supply.

And so are you.

Don't trash the system that you set up for Munk just yet. I haven't heard from him and he isn't working I don't think. His wife is a Nurse and he takes care of the Kids. He no doubt will have to buy something to get back to the net. I'll find out what I can and let you know. I'll probably lose this old thing before too long but, I have planed for such a happening.
Take care and God Bless.
:)

Thanks for the thoughtfulness. I'm sure Bill has noticed it also.

Seems that just a few months ago we had a welcome ready and waiting for everyone who popped up right then.

Well, you're here now, so grab a chair, pull it up to the woodstove, kick off your moccasins, and warm your toes, you'll fit right in! So here's a belated WELCOME to you from the HI Stagestop and Cantina.*

* The Cantina comes from the bar scene ( with all the aliens ) in the first Star Wars movie, a little from Spider Robinson's Callahan's Crosstime Saloon and the Stage Stop bit from the old "Lake's Crossing" gone now, but supplanted by the Sparks College of Knowledge also known as the Nevada State Mental Hospital. Lake's Crossing is now the name of the facility for the criminally insane. Used to go there and get training in their conference room. And visit a friend there too.

I used to work on the Walker River Paiute rez, but we won't get into that. ( Did I mention I have the T-shirt from the 1889-1989 Ghost Dance Centennial? ) Just that the medication I started taking after leaving there helps.

Edit: I just read your Cherokee Language post. Beautiful words for a time of sorrow. I'm certain Uncle Bill knows the truth in them, and in your promise. they should mean a lot to him. Unfortunately it's one thing to know their truth - literally know it! and another to believe it in times like this. Thank you , friend.

I finally got a letter from Munk. From the sound of things he and his wife have decided to by from Dell also. From the letter he sounded a little upset. I'm going to try to call him tonight. Kind of hinted that he didn't need any cherity.

I still feel like Bruise. You did a good thing whether it worked out the way we expected or not. God Bless.:)

BuraFan?

I know I said thanks on the computer offer, but if you can build stuff....er...

I'm in the market for a Stepford wife/Ann-Margret/Adrian Barbeaux, complete with money and an "on/off" switch. :D

(edit: I didn't think of the offer as "charity", but as friendship, spontaneously offered.)

I should be in bed right now butthis is not much activity. I am on my second dose of medication for walking pneumonia (spelling?) I have no idea where I came up with this crap but all of a sudden I started losing weight and feeling pretty rocky. wound up with a cough that was terrible including a bit of blood sometimes. I will try to call Munk tomorrow. I should feel a bit better in the morning than I do right now.

I have to take care of myself because I can't leave my wife to do every thing to do around the place for very long, Ain't neither of us spring chickens any more. I'll get off the box now and just browse around a bit before I crash for the night.

Thanks BuraFan for the kind word and wishes and God Bless. I wish happy holidays for all the forum members.:)

Pappy, God Bless. Get to feeling better. You're in my prayers too.

Hey Pappy,

Heal, rest, sweat, rest, heal, walk, rest...drink chicken soup (something in the fat...honest...really pissed off the AMA when they found out Mom was right!)

Hydrate...lots of water.

Come back, thinner, stronger, and even more you.

Pappy at your age you should'a had the pneumonia shot. They last for five years. After you get over the crap I urge you to ask your Dr about them. Barb and I had ours about three years ago so we're good for a couple of more years.
The flu is also especially fierce this year and if you ain't had a flu shot you should get one and your dear wife as well, she needs the pneumonia shot too.
As you say, "Ain't neither of us spring chickens any more." When people get our ages they just need a little more help in beating off some diseases that's easy to shake when we're younger.:grumpy:

If you were closer I would hold a special Sweatlodge ceremony for you and you would get rid of it in about two hours.:)
