Really like the looks of it, but can't find any info on it other than the seller's description. Any thoughts?

I can't help you with that knife but I have been looking at a lot of Bowie knives as of late. I have picked up the Case Bowie and the Puma Bowie. Both of these are very nice. I am also now looking at some of the Canal Street Cutlery Bowie knives. Happy shopping.

As for bowies, there's plenty of good ones out there. I just like the design of this one, kinda colonial era. Pricewise it's also appealing, but would like to know a bit more about it before buying. The description in a couple of websites is always the same, but there's no mention of what steel is it, handle material etc.

i'm pretty sure all kissing crane knives are 440a. i've always seen this line in reference to them "High quality 440 stainless steel blades and solid brass liners complete this distinctive cutlery line" here's what ag russell has about it "Kissing Crane, founded in 1834, is a line of traditional pocket and hunting knives that are made the "old fashioned way", with good solid 440A equivalent stainless steel and attention to quality and detail."

i have a kissing crane folder, don't remember the name, but it's supposed to be 440a.

ok, thanks! I'm not much of a steel snob, but I like to know what steel are my blades made of. Will post a review later if i get it.
