Just got one about 30 minutes ago!:D This really makes up for having to take a sick leave day today due to a massive ear infection. Have not had an ear infection in the past 35 years, since I was a wee fellow, and in the past year can't seem to get rid of it! Go figure that one, and now the doc is talking tubes in the ears. Well I sure needed a pick me up and it came this morning when Fed Ex delivered the large Carson model 4. Got a bolsterless model with black G-10 handle slabs that have that awesome wood grain look. Large 4.0" clip point blade, which I think is my all time favorite blade shape. There is just so many different jobs you can do with this particular blade style. Opening is smooth as it can be and lockup is of course bank vault solid. Blade is ATS-34, which is not a problem as this steel has always done fine by me.

Only way this day could turn out better would be for the mailman to bring the J.W. Smith I traded for!

Congrats! I am the proud owner of Carbon Fiber with Bolsters model in CPM 30V is the same pattern.

That thing locks up like a bank vault. It makes me feel good all over just to pick it up and admire it.

I've got a Model 4 auto that was made a long time ago that also has a place in my heart. She's a sweetie too :D

Those Kit Carson hand mades are among the very best.

Hey Sid, that model 4 auto got a modified tanto point? I had two of them at one time, guess it was 6 to 8 years ago? Can't really remember. I do remember that they were very nice with as tight a lockup as the manual model. never should have gotten rid of BOTH of them!:(

You wouldn't happen to be a state trooper would you?

My knife is a modified Tanto that came back to Kit about 4 years ago as a refurb and then a trade, from a State Trooper down south somewhere, Kentucky I think.

While my knife may not be one you owned, you sure sound like you could have been its owner. There aren't that many people who know THE feeling ;)

Sid,
It's not one of the ones Art had. Scott was the first owner.
Guess who still has #1? :)

I owned a Med. Model 4 with a modified clip point and carbon fiber handles. IMO the best looking knife I have ever had in my hands.

Art,

Glad to got another M4. Still have the large Model 4 you sold me, plus this two I got later. A classic "user" folder.

Yep couldn't do without one of the classic tacticals of all time. The MODEL 4!! I really do like the clip point version.

All Carson Model 4's must come to me for inspection. . .prior to me forwarding them to Lifter ! :p

I truly wish that I could possess one of those Carson auto's !

............all I can say about them is that they were the sweetest automatics I've ever owned!

Art don't tell me. . .show me. LOL

Actually, I got to "hold" one approx. 2 years ago. I was "allowed" to cycle it once. It belonged to a friend of a friend.

Talk about a drooler !
