Kit Carson still active?

Hi to all,

I'm new here and new to knife world.

I just crossed Kit Carson's model 4. I find this knife beautiful. Now, his site has a lot of dead link. Is Mr Carson still in the business?

Where is the best place to buy his model 4?

Kit is still in the business....his orders are probably backed up into the year 3000. You can occasionally find his work for sale on Forums, but Les Robertson, True North Knives or Bob Neal knives should have something.

I found on Kit Carson site the model 4. He basically present four models, differing on materials mainly. There are pricerange for each of the four types. Based on that, you take contact with Mr Carson and explain what you want? Or is He mainly doing what he want to do, and then you can hope to find one on the three internet shop you gave me here?

Many thanks to explain how it works.

ps: CRKT production model 4, is it worth in comparison with the genuine ones? I picked several differences just on the pictures.

Kit doesn't hang out much here anymore, unfortunately. He IS a member and has contact info listed in his user profile.

Sounds as if you found Kit's old website.

His newer site lists seven folder types (Model 4, 16, 18, 21, and 26, the Tank, and the Folding Bowie) and fixed blades (F4, U2, the Tank, and Others). This particular website does not list prices, like the old website, and the links on the newer website are dead (except "Contact").

The prices listed on the old website are "old" and do not represent the going price Kit's knives fetch. If you find any of Kit's knives for those prices. . . .do not purchase it / them and shoot me an e-mail immediately ! :p :D

Price wise. . . . .day and night. :D

Keep in mind, anytime a custom knife is placed into production. . . .there will be subtle differences. Owning a couple of Kit's customs, I had to pull the trigger on CRKT's offering. The CRKT M4s are very nice and well made !
 
yup , Unc Kit is still upright and doing darn well. Can't wait to hang out with him in February at the SHOT show in Vegas.
