Kit Carson made up a pair of really fine paring knives for me. They are crafted of Talonite (r), flat ground, with blue-gray Corion handles. Blade length is 3" and 4".

These arrived while my eldest daughter, Ann, was visiting. She is now the proud owner of the 4" knife, which will go just fine with her other Talonite knives (which she has weasled from her dad).

Here is a pic:

Walt,

Nice kitchen knives! Not a bad idea!!!

The knives are hidden tang. This way the entire handle is sealed up so nasty bacteria can't get inside.

I am not sure of the price; I paid for them a long time ago. I will get back to you on this. I can attest that there was a considerable amount of grousing by Kit about the difficulties of flat grinding 0.060" blades!

That's a beautiful set of paring knives Walt. I'm a baker. I wonder if Kit would make me a 12 inch Chef's knife with a talonite blade? I would be the envy of every baker in Hawaii.

Rawhide-

Thought about talking to Tom Mayo? He is right there in your neck of the woods and he just MIGHT have a piece of Talonite laying around.
