I'll get it out of the way first.....
I'd like to see some pics of completed knife kits.
(FOLDERS, especially)

I'd also like to hear about the specific challenges involved in putting one of these together. (folders) I'm going to get the kit that takes the least amount of work, and I'd like to know what tools I might need, and the level of difficultly that I should expect.
I'd also like to know what kind of knife quality I will end up with when I'm done.
thanks.
BTW, here's the knifekit I like:
the EV-4N1 model

I just purchased an EV4N1 myself and am in the process of making micarta scales for it at the moment. If you want a good place to see some great kits, head over to the kit knife forum on www.ckdforums.com. I've gotten some really great ideas from seeing some of the pics over there. So far I have assembled and customized two typhoon balisong kits. The level of difficulty really depends on how much customization you want to do. With the folders you can just buy a scale material that comes roughly to shape, sand it down and screw it on. Assembling the rest of the knife takes about 2 minutes. That would be the bare minimum. If you find working with the kits to be fun, though, you can put quite a few hours into customizing them. I put over 40 hours into one of my typhoons, and plan on spending even longer on the EV4N1.

In the way of tools...all I have are hand tools and a dremel. That has been working alright for me. It takes quite a bit longer, but its certainly possible.
