My wife has this kitchen knife that developed a crack after a few months of use. I guess it's a heat treatment issue or maybe that the blade is too thin. Not sure how this happened but she really likes the knife.

Should I throw it away or keep using it carefully? Is there a way to fix it?

Is there a corresponding crack on the other side?

Is it a decent brand? Shun has a 5 year limited warranty I know. Other brands might have something similar. For only a few months use, that shouldn't happen.

If nothing can be warrantied, I'd be inclined to ditch it. If you use it and it breaks, something metal and sharp might go flying.

Fixable? No clue. Out of my league.

Just run a bead of weld over and regrind it. Don't get it too hot or you'll need to redo the heat treat too.

I seen it on TV a bunch of times.
This is dumb and totally unnecessary advice. All you need to do is use some high temp superglue. Put a small dollop on, spread it with your fingers and hold the pieces tightly together with your hand for about 5 minutes. You should be fine after that.

Drill a hole where the crack stops. It will prevent the crack from getting worse. It should be good to go after that with moderate use. It would be advisable not to drop the knife.

I would, like stated above, snap it at the crack and make it into a smaller knife. That depends of course on where that crack is on the blade, can you share a picture of the whole knife?
