So this is my wife's favorite kitchen knife

It's USA made but as far as i know that's where it's attributes stop. It's stainless and made by Etko? anyway it does it's got some curiosities

Like apparent jimping at the end of the cutting edge and a scandi like grind on thin stock. Also it's not a full tang but the spine is the only part exposed and I think the scale shaping is "nifty"

Eyeballing it I'd say it's just under 6" overall and most of that handle.
It's small and delicate but it seems to hold a pretty good edge and she likes using it for peeling potatoes. anyway, we were cutting through some sweet potatoes today and I saw she was using another kitchen knife, not as nice or good, and she explained her favorite wasn't good for tougher work because it's to delicate. I tried handing her a few others

But she really likes a shorter, thinner, blade.
So I need a shorter, thinner blade that's tough but slices...so my next natural thought was john's o1, in 1/16" no less....and maybe a rounded spine?
So what do we think, can we do something with this? I think a new set of scales would be cool but won't make it studier, a new JK knife seems to be in order, the "peeler"!
