I wanna get my Brother in-law and my sister a good set of kitchen knives .. Something for cutting veggies and lots of turkey .. I like it to hold a good edge and something that will last them .. I dont wanna go over board with the price ! I was thinking around 100 bucks but the price could be higher ..

Ya gotta get Cutco! They never go dull, and come in a nice wooden unit. And best of all?..... they cost hundreds and hundreds of dollars!

(The previous drivel was ALL sarcasm, in case you didn't notice.)

I purchased the Ryusen Blazen for my Mom last year.

I wanted to get my favorite relatives some nice Japanese cutlery but I could not afford to buy them all Ryusen

DP Sweden Steel Warikomi (Clad) Series for Tojiro offered some very nice Knives a decent price. I bought them a 120mm petty, 180mm Gyuto, and 240 mm Gyuto.

Nice were bloody sharp and nicely made for the money. No, they were not in the same league as the Ryusen but for the money they were very nice. In fact, far nicer than anything they had in their draws/

Get a few good Old Hickory knives and that will do for most needs, I use a 6" Cataraugus French knife and a 5" old Hickory boning knife for almost everything I do in a Kitchen

Jump on those Tojiros. They are excellent knives for the money. As I've said many times before, after I bought Tojiro Pro knives, I got rid of all my Henckell's, Wusthof, Case, Forschners and Dexters, etc. etc.. That brought smiles to my relatives and friends as they got some fine knives as fallout from my experience with Tojiro Pro. :)

Check out Warther knives. Nice, American made, inexpensive, made of D2 steel. You may have to put a sharper edge on but you can do it.

Victorinox Forschner knives are well thought of in their price range.

Very funny people, we all know Miracle Blade is indestructable and the best of the best. I like to use my Miracle Blades on shoes and hammers...

I hate to be a lazy SOB, but do you have a link to more info about Tojiro Pro knives?

Don't be a cheap brother.....
Take Care...

Sorry about the delay in getting back to you.

Here is a link to a very popular dealer:

Japanese Chefs Knife also has many other Japanese maker's kitchen cutlery lines. All of which are top shelf stuff. Warning! Japanese kitchen knives can be addictive!

If you want to see if you can get better prices, type Tojiro into Froogle and have fun.
