got the kitchen set I ordered for my wife last night. haven't had a chance to use it yet but gotta say I am really happy with it. the knives look nicer then i expected for a set of kitchen knives and not a rough edge anywhere on any of the handles. nice flush rivets and perfect fit of handles and tang. handles are also a little larger then similar sized kitchen knives we've had so fill up your hand without leaving a finger hanging off the end. Prefer how the handles remain fairly consistent in size rather then proportional to the blade; my hand doesn't get smaller when I'm using a smaller blade.
for the blades (not sure the correct terms) like how the back/spine of the blade is nice and thick with a little more heft to em then our henckels. all the edges were sharp as expected. not a real fan of serated edges even for steak knives but the serations on the slicer and the steak knives are much more aggressive then our previous ones so should do well.
only minor letdown is the block having a slot for a steel but no steel is included. not a big deal as we have a few but am sure my wife's gonna notice "somethings missing" and I hate to throw an old plastic handled steel in the middle of those pretty wood handles! will just try and find a similar handle one later.
am sure she'll love the set and I'll be happy to remove my 120, 119, 118, 105 and 102 out of the kitchen drawer.
