here is the first kitchen knife i have made. it is 52100 with ironwood scales. the blade is 8" long oal is 13". Blade was ht'd with methods i discussed(hopefully learned) from Bill Burke. Did some testing with it and it has performed flawlessly so far got 100 cuts on some 1" hemp rope and got bored and quit and the knife will still shave. Let me all know what you think of design/execution etc.

Nice knife. As far as the design, my only comment would be to make sure that the area below the ricasso (going down to the heel) doesn't have and "hot spots" when you choke up and use a pinch grip. That straight line can be an area of irritation if the edges aren't rounded off. I hope that makes sense.

Looks good shrek! Did you Get it thinned down close to where it should be? You photo is even pretty good. try and keep any drop out of the handle.

Erik it looks very nice to me. If it is your first one you did your home work good. If you are going to make more and need an outlet for them let me know I might be able to help.
