2) Less that $25 will buy you....a junk knife.
3) Get a Victorinox/Fibrox 6 inch chefs knife. Should set you back about $35. Anything less will be more junk.
4) Pony up for a decent Henckels. Not a fortune, but it will be the last chef's knife you every buy. Mine is at about 30 years of use.
