Hi all,

I love to go camping but honestly spend most of my time in the city. Thus, most of my cutting chores are cooking related.
I've been considering purchasing a good quality kitchen knife that can also be stuck into a kydex sheath and be taken out to the woods for bushcraft.
Does such a thing exist?
Do I have to pay an arm and a leg (or can one be had for ~$50)?

Any recommendations and opinions would be greatly appreciated.

Old hickory from ontario or have a look at the wide selection of mora's.

If you take a $50 kitchen knife into the woods; It's still a $50 knife. I think a good kydex sheath for it would cost more then that. But yes you can take a kitchen knife into the woods for cooking.

Cold steel long hunter. Is cheap, cuts well (I actually use mine in the kitchen as a kitchen knife), should be durable.

my camping kit is a kershaw deluxe blade trader set...has the essential blades for cooking in addition to other blades useful in the camping environment...and it's all carried in its own case...works for me...
