I got a stainless steel damascus Kershaw Shun Classic paring knife at the Blade Show and thought some may be interested in some "up market" kitchen knives:
Overview shot for size comparison - details below
David Boye 6" Chef/cook knife that he made for me
6" BDS (Boye Dendritic Steel - cast 440C) 11" overall length Desert Ironwood handle.
Boye BDS blade detail
Stainless Steel Damascus chef/cook knife
bought from Cutlery Shoppe some years ago -
this looks identical to the Hattori brand knife and even box that it came in.
7 1/8" blade - VG-10 core sanwiched (SanMai) between stainless steel Damascus 12" overall length full tang pakkawood handles.
Hattori Damascus blade details
Kershaw Shun Classic paring knife:
3 1/2" Blade - VG-10 core sandwiched (SanMai) between 410 stainless Damascus
see more details in this thread -
linked - Blade Show 2003 Photos - Pt.3
I intend to use this both as a kichen knife and as an outdoors knife - as it fits neatly into the hip-pocket leather sheath of the AG Russell Woodswalker - see this thread -
