with all the knives that Schrade made did it or any of its several siblings make a nice set of kitchen knives? would love to find some to use in our house. make my collection more personal.

Schrade made Betty Crocker and KitchenAide knives as well as a host of other patterns. I'm told the KitchenAides were awesome.
Imperial made many sets of kitchen and dinner ware. Check out the link that Hal put up. They had 3 lines good, better, and best. The names and patterns changed from year to year.

I could go for this set, with the hand rubbed wall rack.

Ulster even had a kitchen cutlery department, as did Schrade Walden, altough I think SW mainly dealt with steak knives. Albert Baer said that's the one aspect of the cutlery business he couldn't figure out how to make a profit in.

Here is one of my Imperial kitchen knives. It has all sorts of attachments including personal massagers for the wife whose husband is always late for dinner. Meet "Pinky"...

I also have a group of Sears Chrome Vanadium kitchen knives Baer made for Sears, some as old as the early 1940's. A couple of steak knives and "Veri-Sharp" paring knives too. My everyday tableware is Imperial stainless, though I don't recall the pattern name offhand. There were dozens of different patterns. I have some serving spoons also, pierced and plain marketed as "Granny's Spoons".

Hi Michael -- That's some history there!!
I'll bet when they advertised the "Peel King" in the magazines that the car in the ad on the opposite page had some big 'ole fins at the rear!!

I have a set of what I believe are butter/table knives at home that, if I recall correctly, are Schrade Walden. Either 5 or 6 of them, all with celluloid handles that are deteriorating badly, so they are well separated from my other knives. I'm out of town right now, but will try to remember to take some pics when I get home this weekend.

Well I forgot about taking pics last weekend, but ran across them today, so I got one snap off before my camera battery died. Anyway, there are only 4 here, and they are definitely butter knives. Tang stamp of SCHRADE WALDEN. It should be visible in this lone bad pic.

We have a set of Schrade HD Kitchen knives, that came in a wooden block like most, but it has an etched HD Eagle over the Bar and Shield. I bought them new in the 80's from a dealer in Rocky Mount NC, They were made in Ellenville. Wife still uses them although not as much, she found some she likes better. (much to my sorrow, lol)
