I thought y'all like to see a KITH in action. This is a 5160 skinner made by Burton Haruff for the 2009 KITH
We have boned out two deer and butchered abunch of chickens it is still sharp,it has a great edge!
My son surprised me this morning.Unbeknownst to me he went hunting this morning and came home with a young doe.
A Scope mounted SKS Using a hollow-point round.Double lung,Ran about 10 yards
I think it is an average 18mo doe for here or an exceptional 6mo old. The best eating size there is!
He patterned, hunted, killed and brought her home all unaided by me. He is very pleased with his efforts. I am probably more pleased

Cool! glad he got one. Venison loin steaks are my favorite! My brother went out this morning, and he claims he's staring at a 200 inch buck 400 yards away... Im thinkin he's got buck fever something fierce!

I know the feeling of pride you must have right now. My daughter got her first buck a few weeks ago. Seated shot at 235 yards...buck moved maybe 10 feet before dropping. Unlike you I made the mistake of giving her an e-bay (unknown history) Ka-bar that I had sharpened. The knife dulled quickly making the work harder than it should have been.

Later I checked the blade and it was soft as butter. Somewhere down the line it was damaged. I'm making her a skinner out of Aldo's 1084. Got some great rolls from the Rocky Mountain knife show here in Boise. I'll use one of them for her knife.

She's looking forward to getting a bull Elk next year.

Great job mentoring and making the smarter decision about knife selection :)

Always good to see outdoor sports being taught and passed on to young people. Congradulations to father and son.

Hey Tom, glad the knife is serving you well. And glad to see you are using it. Thanks for sharing the pics and story. It makes me hungry just thinking about it! Looking forward to meeting you face to face this weekend and working on some knives. Have a safe trip up. -Burton
