I have wanted to try one of these out for a while, but was a little put off by their price. I finally found one at a price I really couldn't argue with and I purchased it. Man, I love this little knife. Let me say it again...I LOVE THIS LITTLE KNIFE. It is really ugly but ever so functional. The wharnie styled blade is ridiculously functional as an edc. The thing sharpens like a razor and cuts like a laser. I have been carrying it for two weeks now and I really don't believe I can live without it now. Seriously. It fits in my pocket perfectly, is unobtrusive, and cuts everything I throw at it with no issue. It has knocked all of my other EDC's out of the rotation for now. An in all honesty I think that when I decide I want to put those back into rotation I will probably still be carrying this great little folder as well.
If you get the chance, pick one up!

The very first run had a loose blade (easily wiggled from side-to-side) while closed. Does yours do this? Later runs didn't have this admittedly minor issue. Fantastic little pocketknife. I've used mine for hard use, including a gasket scraper. Great little pocketknife. The carbon fiber model I don't "get". You made a traditional knife, then put CF scale materiel in there? Er??? I still don't get that one. But the jigged bone and the red bone, those I get. Hoping for bark ivory or some sweet stag in the near future. ;)

I liked the carbon fiber so much that I got two!
Likes and dislikes are subjective.

Don't think I have a single Spyderco folder where the blade can't be wiggled side to side in the closed position. To me, as long as they naturally return to center and have no horizontal play when open, it's a non-issue.

Agree that stag looks great on the Kiwi, but have to say the CF looks darn good.

i got one about 2 months ago, its the best ever. the most amazing is sharpening. a few straight passes on a wet stone and presto!!! love it.

Whoa! India stag with engraved bolsters. Pimpin! Yikes. The loose blade (while closed) issue was widely talked about around here when the first batch came in from Japan. I have one of those "loose" models. I also have one of the CF sprints and it isn't loose while closed. The problem, however nitpicky, was taken care of after some stateside squeaking went into high volume. Sweet knife, no matter what version. Just because I don't "get" the idea behind the CF version doesn't mean I don't own one! A bargain is a bargain, and the Kiwi is a bargain at any price.

Again, Sweet custom job. Thanks for the pic!

Glad to see that there are others out there who love this little knife as well. Mine locks up tight withno verticle or horizontal play. I think I may buy another to send off to be customized.

i have just enjoying the wharncliffe type blade within the last few months. i dont know why i did't try one earlier, it is a great blade type. in addition to my centofante 4 i bought a CF kiwi, it is a great lil knife. the big question i have is what to rescale mine with:D

I love my Kiwi as well. Bought as a dressy knife, but it keeps finding it's way into my pocket.

It feels larger in hand than it is, and the little wharncliffe is plenty capable. As far as looks, it's definitely an odd little knife, but it has a definite function before form appeal to it. It is a Spyderco, after all :D

The suede pouch is also a really nice touch.

I want one. I handled one at a dealer and was instantly hooked. Fit and finish is top of the line, and the blade shape looks absolutely perfect.

I normally have mine in my rear pocket - the little leather pouch makes it comfier and protects the knife and my clothes. I love this little thing. I have both a Cat and a Chicago on order, and one of those may take its place for EDC, but I love the Kiwi!
