Don't let the strange shape of this knife keep you from trying it. It's as useful as any Wharncliffe blade around. I don't know if it was fresh from Spyderco, but it had, and maintained a wickedly sharp edge. The double finger Choil is also a unique and handy addition. It allows you to really get a good grip on the knife, and works to keep your hand steady for intricate cutting tasks. The first Choil, directly behind the blade is meant for the index finger, while the rear Choil accommodates the middle finger. It is surprisingly comfortable to use. Also the fact that the body is SS, gives you a feeling of confidence when using the blade. The only part I had trouble getting used to, was that it was just floating around in my pocket. I have become used to a clip on my EDC. Other than that this knife was a lot of fun to use.

Thanks Frank for giving me a chance to try something new.

Thanks for the review Ken!

The Kiwi was pretty much the way that it came from Spyderco…. I think that I carried it for a day and I don’t remember cutting anything with it except for some phone book pages to test the sharpness.

I liked the Kiwi a lot more than I thought I would. The Kiwi is small enough for clipless pocket carry that it dose not constantly remind me that it’s there, but when I need it, it was open in a flash and the ergonomic handle makes it feel like a much bigger knife.

I fondled one for the first time at the NJKC meeting. I like it and plan on getting one soon. Easy to palm as you are walking down a dark street. Placing you index finger on the blade like a scalpel will provide good reinforced cuts. It also leaves little or none of the knife exposed for leverage for a disarm. Nice little sheeple friendly hold out piece.
