I was a Kizer doubter but bit the bullet and acquired a Ki401x2 model. It is a good looking big beast and came very sharp. How do you like your Kizer and post a picture of your collection?

Still really happy with my Ki5404A2. The blade has held it's edge well through loads of cardboard and touched up nicely afterward. Even after a month or so I feel like it's a bit early to really tell on build quality, but initial impressions are darn good. As of now, it's up there with anything else in my collection in terms of quality and just generally feels like a much more expensive knife than it is. I started out slightly disliking the rainbow anodizing on the lockbar side, but it's grown on me as it makes it stand out in my collection. A splash of color can be a nice change.

All in all, I'm hoping Kizer picks up on some proprietary lock designs and other features as they lose their patents as their quality seems very good and the pricing is really aggressive. If they keep playing by the rules and putting out quality products I could easily see them becoming one of my favorite brands.

I'm skeptical enough that I'm not going to declare them the best thing since sliced bread based on a single blade I bought, but if my knife is indicative of their overall quality they have earned a place at the table with the big boys.

I am quite pleased with the four Kizers I have acquired so far.

The last one being one of the special editions from Blade HQ, the Ki4450A3 modified Wharncliffe/sheepsfoot with blue-&-black G10.

Their fit and finish is outstanding. If they keep doing things the way they have, they should esily become a "big name" in the cutlery business.

I just received a Kizer Ki403A2 knife to judge the quality for myself after reading the favorable comments about Kizers on the forums. The fit and finish is of a very high level. Lockup is tight and blade centering is fine. It appears to be a very strong knife. Good balance and good jimping. I m a big believer in value in knives, and this one seems to be an excellent value. It begs to be used for work. Time will tell how well it holds up.

Still very impressed with my Ki401T, the fit and finish is fantastic. What I think should really be noted is how well they've executed the framelock; there's no trace of lock stick or blade play, and the lock disengages very smoothly and easily. And from what I've seen, the lockup between them is quite consistent. My lockbar sits in the same place as everyone else's. The flipping action is surprisingly good for being on washers. Luckily, they're coming out with a new version with bearings!

And here's the updated model they showed on their facebook:

Does the tang of the blade have a flat or a radiused lockface? The reason I ask is because most knives of the same model will lockup very much near the same spot on a lockface that is radiused as the lockbar simply cant move past a certain point. If the lock face is not radiused then the lockup consistency would in fact be pretty impressive.

It is a slight radius, I should have caught that myself. I know people have had issues with radiused lockfaces in the past, but I have yet to hear anything about Kizer's having issues. So I guess there may be some merit to the radiused lockface.

I dont think they are bad. I havent had a problem with any lockface that was radiused. I have seen some that were a bit dramatic in curvature which had me worried but still no issues to report.

why is there a picture of pappas (gary busey) from point break on your board?

on topic....i'm still on the fence, may add one...not sure yet.....

Not Gary busey. I took over my dad's office, he moved to a bigger one. The pic is of his good friend and college roommate.

I've had four, and they've all impressed - never kept one, though. The 4450Ti will probably be my first "keeper" kizer.

So... I managed to bend the pocket clip on my Ki423. Normally I hate single screw clips like my brous bionic, which always comes loose. Sure, the single screw allows a narrower clip, taking up less real estate, but at the cost of looseness. I noticed my kizer's clip never did that. When I took it off it was quite a challenge . The clip is ingenious . Along with the screw, it has two Ti posts as part of the scale, which correspond with two holes in the clip. I'm extremely impressed. Too bad brous hasn't caught, as well as other manufacturers.

Those are great knife pictures. I'm going to have to check out your favorite.

What camera did you use to take the pictures?
