I purchased the Kizer model Ki3302B1 from Blade HQ on sale for approx. $63.(normally around $100)
I had to try a Kizer knife because of what I read in regards to the materials, fit and finish. I was also interested because it is Damascus only to realize this isn't actually a fully Damascus blade. It's a laminated blade, with a VG-10 core and Damascus layers on the outside.
I was not sure how I would feel about tip down carry and the color (blue and light yellow)but all in all what a nice knife.
Clean lines, nice action, blade was centered. It sharp for a normal person (little bit of a sharpness snob here😄
.
I read on the forum about people taking them apart and polishing etc.
Used a T27 to take out the pivot pin and a T6 on the body screws.
I polished the pivot pin and bronze washers (it has different size washers on each side due to the frame lock). I think it made it smoother, crazy as it may sound it was more noticeable when closing the knife.
Pivot pin has a flat spot that mates with the opposite side of the body so it doesn't keep spinning when tightening.
Fit is really tight when putting it back together. I have 2 more Kizer knives coming. All the others that I'm buying from name brands and they're made in China whatever in regards to that conversation.
Just some thoughts I wanted to share.
Thanks,
Marc
