Heres the latest Kizer collab with Ray Laconico, the Ursa Minor, basically a gemini with a harpoon styled blade, almost identical to the intrepid.

A small knife, perfect for me for having a small hand, nice milled pocket clip, unlike the gemini which has the stamped metal clip.

Smooth action, not the smoothest coz of its light blade stock, sweet knife over all.

Only drawback for me is the finishing of its handle, stain like crazy, i mean all sorts of stain. Its probably due to the handle being titanium. Maybe not suitable for true EDC unless you dont mind the visible wear and tear on your titanium handle.

Overall, very very satisfied.

*admin, i DO NOT intend to sell this knife here, this is purely a simple overview.

I prefer this one to the Gemini. It' s still a very simple looking knife but the blade shape just has more character to me.

I just got myself a Gemeni and love it. However, I am not too thrilled with the clip. I would much prefer the clip in the Ursa Minor version.

And of course some pics to share...

Can anyone confirm if the Ursa Minor clip will fit on a Gemini handle? Is the clip even available on the secondary market?

I actually prefer the original Gemini blade shape as it seems to fit better with the lines of the handle, but that Ursa Minor clip is a winner!

Yes it will definitely fit the gemini, the clip is available from kizer, not sure if they are in stock, might wanna check in your dealers.

You change to ursa minors clip, they fit perfectly

Just ordered the Ursa Minor clip (and screws) for my Gemini directly from Kizer cutlery. They confirmed that it will fit. $20 shipping included (To Canada), they said will take about a month to get here. Just in case anyone is interested...
Cheers!

Looks like a nice knife. At 4.125" total closed length, it is just a bit too short for me to use comfortably with my size Large hands. The clip is milled; I suspect that means that any "springiness" factor is gone. I MUCH prefer springy clips, or wire clips. The scales are very pretty, but will snail-trail (as per OP) rather quickly. Also, smooth titanium = slippery titanium. Okay, as long as you are aware of that factor.
I like the blade shape and the grip contour. About another cm longer in closed length and I'd buy it. I would have to send it out to have someone "rough-up" the scales with some texture so that I could hold onto it better. Of course, I have similar problems with my plain-slabbed Sebbies.
All in all, very nice folder.

Got a Gemini a few months back. It's still a Safe Queen currently, but that is going to change soon ;)

Yes sir, a short knife indeed, not suitable for people with large hands i guess. Yeap the handle will get slippery especially with people with sweaty palm, and the finish is a stain magnet but easily cleaned some singer oil. Other than that, its just a sweet little knife.

I'm glad to see this knife back in the spotlight. So many knives today become yesterdays news so fast, they come and go, glad this is back for a while even in an upgraded form....

I love carrying my clipless. Really wish they milled the framelock recess from the inside like a CRK to make the exterior cleaner looking.

These are great knives for the price!!! I picked mine up in person from Sanford (Steve) Owen at Carmel Cutlery in Carmel, Ca. The Ursa Minor is Exclusive to his shop. It is Latin for "small bear" and is modeled after Ray's Baby Bear. You can order them here: http://carmelcutlery.com/
Steve is an awesome guy and will take care of all your needs. He hooked me up with all stainless steel hardware for my Ursa Minor and it looks SWEET!!! He also has a buddy that does custom annodizing on the Kizers and has them in his shop. Check him out!

My short review...
This knife is amazing!! For a sub $200 flipper, it has the smoothest flipper action I've seen and felt in that price range. It is smoother than my Lancer 2, and almost just as smooth as my Shirogorov Custom Division 95T. Both of those knives are much, much more expensive. The detent is strong, but not too strong. The lock is stick-free and has a steel lock insert. The blade is perfectly centered. The milling on the Ti slabs is amazing. Very smooth in the hand! My only gripe on this knife is the smooth slabs tend to get slippery when your hands sweat. They are also prone to stain. No big deal overall. Just being nitpicky. It has become my EDC for work and weekday carry. Excellent knife!!!

Also got one of these at Carmel Cutlery. If you know the store and Steve, you can easily understand I tried about 50 knives before leaving the store with a Mcusta. Slept on it (and read about the Ursa Minor here) and had to go back for one. What a great knife. Ergonomics, smooth action, love the blade thickness.

Happy about the Mcusta but the Ursa Minor is a must!
