I just got the Kesmec a few days ago. I for some reason was very anxious to get the knife.
Due to a snowstorm it took longer to get than I had anticipated but I finally got it. I could not figure out why it was so heavily discounted but I got my answer now. The design, fit and finish and price ($50) are all great. The ergo's are really nice BUT someone in the design dept. decided to contour the thumb hole which in turn made it a crapshoot as to whether you will successfully deploy the blade. How does a company as meticulous as Kizer not try out the knife before producing it. I own knives from the low end Tenacious to the high end Kershaw Tilt, Stider, ZT0452 and more, and I know how a knife is supposed deploy. I am actually upset that they messed this knife up because I really like it.
Conclusion: Nice design, very good fit and finish and bad execution. I am finding it hard to return but I know I will never carry it.
Update: I roughed up the area where my finger was slipping and now it's much better. I decided to keep it.
