These were sent to me at a discount for review.
Another great offering from Klarus, the Mi1c is a compact powerhouse. It comes in different finishes, black anodized aluminum, titanium and copper. The black anodized aluminum model has a convex lens were the Ti and Cu models have a standard lens and orange peel reflector. The pocket clip provides for lens up only carry and is attached between the head and body making it very solid. The whole light is very compact, think Olight SMINI size. A single side switch operates the light and it comes with a Klarus 16340 cell that has built in USB charging. All three models have magnets in the tail cap, reverse polarity protection and electronic lock out. It offers the standard high, medium, low, moonlight, strobe and beacon modes.
I have to say I am not a fan of the convex lens. I guess I can understand the employment of this feature but it just doesn’t work for me. It creates a very wide, very floody beam with almost no throw to speak of, see pictures. It would be good for lighting a room or a tent but for my EDC tasks it is not useful. The Ti and Cu version with the standard lens and reflector offer a smooth beam with a good combination of throw and flood, great for EDC tasks. They have stuck to a theme of body machining that is reminiscent of other offerings (Mi7, Mini One) and the pattern offers a fair amount of grip. Overall the fit and finish are great and while I would skip the AL version with the convex lens the standard lens and reflector combination are great.
