I bought a small 18oz KK to put in my small max pack. Its strictly for my pack......... I liked it so much, I just bought a 40oz original KK with the regular loop cap. I would like to know if it will fit in a 10 x 4 maxpedition bottle holder ???

Do I need to get the flat cap ( hope not ) ??? I did not even know they made a flat cap for the original one or I would have bought one with a flat cap. I am strictly going to use it for water and nothing else.

If I have to get a flat cap, would you recommend the standard one or the stainless one ???

Can some of you guys that have this combo ( I am sure you do ) post a pic of the 40oz original KK in the 10x4 maxpedition bottle holder. I know it will fit the 12x5, but thats too big for me.

Let me know guys...........Thanks In Advance.

Bad news I'm afraid.
It won't fit easily with the loop cap. You can force the lid closed, but it's tight.

I had to get the flat cap in order to get the lid zipped (got the SS one).
Now it will close, but it's close.

I'll get some pics up later.

THANKS for the Pics. Thats Exactly what I wanted to see. Looks like I will have to get the flat cap when I get the maxpedition bottle holder. I would like to get the foliage green one, but many places are out of them. If I cant find one, I will probably go with the Khaki. Darn shoulder strap is half as much as the bag........lol. Its good stuff though !!!

sorry to hijack this thread... but can you safely boil water in there? SORRY :D

In the brushed stainless Klean Kanteen, Yes you can. You can in the colored KK, but the paint will ruin, thats why I bought the brushed 18oz one for my maxpack. I got the wide mouth so it would be easier to boil water, make soup, etc.

The original style 40oz, I bought for using around the house and out and about. Thats why I wanna get the maxpedition bottle holder. I will just get a little bit here and there a since they are a few $$

How much better is the stainless flat cap vs. the standard plastic one ???......Any Pros/Cons of each ???

The stainless cap may be more durable than the plastic.
Don't know for sure, but it seems like it would be.

The stainless cap is also closed on the bottom where the plastic one isn't.
That might not be an issue other than cleaning it out.
The stainless cap keeps stuff from getting up in there.

Other than that I can't think of anything that makes one better than the other.
