I am looking for a new waterbottle and have narrowed it down to two, and I can not tell the difference. So I am turning to all of you with experience.

Which to buy: the Guyot 38oz bottle or the Klean Kanteen 40oz bottle AND WHY.

Thoughts, ideas, personal speculation is being requested here!!!!

I believe that both are good bottles. Get the one you like the look of the best. I'm going to be in the market for more water bottles soon and am thinking about getting one of each. :) If and when I do, I'll be getting mine from Two Wolves Outdoors, they are dealers here on BF.Com.

I've got the 40 oz KK and a 27 oz KK and the big guyot (the tapered bottom, can't remember the name). I like the KK for everyday use, it's easier to drink out of while walking and driving (don't spill all over yourself because it's got the narrow stem). However the same narrow stem makes it hard to get ice into, and somewhat harder to fill.

However the larger mouth of the guyot makes it compatible with more accessories (water filters etc) and I usually bring along the guyot if I've got gear that works with it.

Overall I prefer the KK though. I love my 27 oz KK too. That lives in my EDC bag and is the perfect size.

I have two of the Guyote SS bottles. The first one I got leaked. I wrote an email to Guyote and they sent me a new one right away, for free. They do have fantastic customer service. Unfortunately this new one leaks as well. In each case the o-ring in the lid didn't seem to be seating properly. Neither of them did it all the time but it's often enough that I'm now using my old standby plastic Nalgene. I'll be ordering a KK soon.

I've heard lots of good things about the Guyote bottles and that's why I bought one. Maybe I got a couple of duds. It's a shame too because I really like them otherwise. :(

It is funny, I had resisted this whole metal water bottle thing, but now I will be buying one...

I have decided on the Nalgene/Guyot Wide Mouth, probably the fat one...

I really like the wide-mouth, and I want it to fit the Nalgene caps, so that I can buy a Humangear capCap.

Best,
Marion

Klean Kanteen makes a wide mouth bottle now, that is supposed to mate with msr water filters. I can't seem to dind one locally, so I guess I will be going online some time in the future for one. I really like the narrow mouth ones that I have, but would like to have the ability to filter water directly into the bottle, without a transfer.

I too am looking at the wide mouth bottles for use with the Humangear CAPcap. The issue I am finding is that the opening diameters are different. Some say the CAPcap fits the KK wide mouths, and others say they do not. I talked with KK and they were not much help since they had no experience with the CAPcap, but they did say they have had some trouble fitting all the Nalgene lids to their bottles.
I really want to get one in hand and find out for myself since I think I like the KK design a little more (more roundness on their edges).

Well, I am figuring out what I want from a store mentioned earlier in this thread, once I do that I will be able to tell you.

I had a capCap, but I gave it to my brother. Once I have a Guyot/Nalgene in hand, I will borrow it back for the test and try it on...

The article linked above, states that the Nalgene/Guyot will work with the capCap.

Well it looks like I need to get in the CAPCAP and try it out on all the bottles.
Thanks for the idea folks!

And thanks for the boost!

The Guyot / Nalgene bottle will work for sure...it is a question of will the CAPcap work with the KK...I have heard differing results.
