Does anyone know when Klein Tools began to made their knives in the USA? Also, do they make them in house or do they outsource them?

Pretty sure Klein has always outsourced knives. Klein has sold electrician's knives for since at least the 1930's. The TL-29 design dates from the late teens of that century. Klein has always specialized in electrician's tools and a knife is necessary for that trade.

Some of Klein's "modern" lockback knives were made in Japan starting in ~mid 80's. Their traditional electrician's knives were always made in the USA until possibly recently. Once Camillus closed in 2007, finding a US source became a challenging proposition. Utica is said to have made them in the USA for the last few years. Not sure about today.
