Hi Folks,

So this is a long story that you have to trudge though before the Gaw. I think this is the last giveaway for me for the summer. I received this one from Lou Lasher another member on the forum. He had sent it along with the Utica Peanut that I cleaned up a little and just did a GAW for. He knew that I really like traditionals in this size and wanted me to have these knives from a clean out of a house in his town. He lives close to one of the factories where knives like these are manufactured as I had mentioned in the other GAW.
He gave his blessing that I could give them away btw. So please thank him if you win! I was actually going to keep this one for the sheer coolness of a coping blade. I have no idea what a coping blade is, I just knew that it had an incredible hand feel and an awesome useful blade shape. The back of it is good for scraping stuff, the spine is pretty darn thick for such a tiny peanut sized knife.
The edge also was as thick as the spine and just as dull. I have spent on and off a month or so thinning out the edge. It was a little bit sloppy but it's slicing paper now really nicely.
The curious thing was that I was going through my last series of sharpening tonight on this edge. I had put it though a diamond hone, a lansky diamond crock set, then finally back beveled and sharpened on a Spyderco Sharpmaker and then to strop on cardboard. I ran to my dining room to grab an envelope from my junk mail pile to test out its new edge. I ended up randomly grabbing a St. Jude. mailer with a complete paper pad in it unbeknownst to me until I got back into the kitchen!
It also made me sad though because I have a friend who is going through cancer right now as is another friend who happens to be on the forum Krav, whose wife is also getting treatment. It made me realize that it might be life trying to teach me a lesson. I wanted to recognize that sometimes fate and random things in our lives do have meaning, and it's not the material objects in our lives that matter but the people that we meet and those who we hold dear to us that are important.
In this spirit, I hope that you can find some time to say a prayer for those in your life who need a little good luck, a little faith, a bit of a miracle in their lives. I hope that you can say a prayer for Krav's family. I think I saw Krav giving away a Caly 3.5 right now on the main forum. He's a really cool guy. But anyhow do say a prayer for him and his family as I do every night.
Now for the GAW. This is a really cool Klein Tools Coping blade, plastic handles, sharp, would make a great EDC to rotate. This blade is thick for a little knife. It's perfect for digging out stuff. In any case I have thinned out the edge and it's been back-beveled sharp! I really was going to keep this one, but I would be ecstatic if someone else could appreciate it!
I'll announce the winner using a random generator to pick the winner. I'm going to have it cycle three times and the third pick will be the winning post.
Your post is your entry, just say I'm in!
Good luck to all who participate and God bless!
