Been looking at getting a nice TL-29 to carry and noticed Klein tools sells one in carbon steel and a very modest price.
Anyone have any experience with these knives?

My Klein half hawk electrician is a very sturdy knife.....

I have one I bought new this year. Great quality for the $13 I paid. Good walk and talk no blade play and the spear blade came reasonably sharp.
One issue was a strong oily/cosmoline type aroma that is almost gone.
Great value it sharpened up hair popping sharp in minutes on a Sharpmaker. Get one!

Klein tool are no joke. I was a commerce electrician and that is all that I would buy. I believe the come with a life time warranty too.

I will pick one up, maybe send it to someone on here and have some nice wood covers put on it.
I know their tools are solid, but I figure the knives are contracted out by another company.
I wonder if is Utica making these for Klein?
And with the popularity of the TL-29 here, why don't we hear more about these?

Utica yes.
It took me a few stores before I ran into a Klein TL-29. The first few stores had no Klein knives that were terrible or none at all.
You are right they are overlooked.

Any word as to the pull on these?
I have an older camillus TL-29, but don't carry it because it's a real nail breaker, besting even GEC.

The Klein TL-29's are decent knives. The pull on them is moderate, maybe a 5-6 in my experience. I just never liked the "plastic" covers or the bail. Maybe that's why I like to modify them, LOL!

You can't go wrong for the price, IMO.

I have Electrician's knives made/sold by various companies and have always found the screwdriver blade to be the hard one to open. The nail nick is too close to the pivot point to get any leverage. I have Craftsman, Camillus, Klein and Colonial ones in my collection.
