Just got offered one of these in a trade, seems pretty cool but its in 440c  especially because the price tag is around $250. Anyone had any experience with these?

What's wrong with 440c (besides the internet steel snobery that'll tell you it's bad)?

Klotzli makes good stuff, I have one of those from way back, and it's been a reliable pocket friendly knife (I think mine was imported by Spyderco...I think).

Well I feel 440c is a cheap steel for a $250 knife, and if your paying that much, you might as well get VG-10 or S30V or D2 etc. What would you say is better an al mar nomad or the acc1?

440c is a good steel they probably have a good heat treat for it.

I see where you're coming from though, some $10 knives are 440c :P

The Klötzli ACC-1 is a very well made knife, but a SanRenMu 710 stays sharper for longer in ordinary daily use like cutting string, opening boxes & mail, and peeling apples.
That is at least the opinion of my father in law (age 70) whom i gave both knives; the Klötzli about 8 years ago and the 710 about a year ago.
For carry he still favours the Klötzli because the knife is very light & flat (polished carbon fiber handle), and it looks more classy.

I see where you're coming from. 440C is quite a good user steel, but if I paid 250$ for a 440C blade, it had better grant me three wishes when I rub it. ;)

There are better steels out there, generally speaking, and for that cash, I'd expect a knife to be made of something a bit fancier.
