Klotzli Knives

Does anyone know anything about the quality, fit and finish of Klotzli knives. I really like the look of their survival knife, it reminds me of a Randall model 18 but runs a little cheaper. I know that many of their folders are designed by Michael Walker, and I figure he wouldn't let his name be associated with junk, but really don't know anything about the company. If anyone can enlighten me it would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sort of the Swiss equivalent of William Henry. Very high class (very expensive) with lots of handwork making for excellent fit and finish. I've only got one of their knives; it's almost a piece of jewelry.
 
I second that. I think describing them as a Swiss William Henry is very apt. Outstanding knives. I have a model 30 gentlemen's knife with green carbon fiber scales. It is very much like a William Henry.
 
Cool, thanks for the info, I'm glad to hear that they're a quality company, as they make some really nifty designs, IMHO. As stated in my first post I really like the look of their survival knife, which is a fixed blade, but some of their folders are cool as well. A bit out of my league right now, but a man can dream.

Been a long time since I've been here. (But still the same topics run, like Sebeza vs. customs... ;) )

Anyways, I own 2 WH's and one Klötzli. The Klötzli is a Walker design Wharncliffe with plain edge and red CF handles. I think that the fit and finish of the Klötzli is better than that of WH. The edge is "only" 440C with Teflon finish - so in terms of materials it's not quite as nice. But definitely the best finished knife I've had (well, tie with Sebenza and the WH's very close).

I've tried a few at knifeshows, I felt they where overpriced by quite a bit for what you got. YMMV.
 
Just my two cents...

I have a klotzli whimff wharncliff folder I bought from AG Russell. They are very well made and are nice designs but pricey. Personally, i like the new William Henry knives better, especially the Monarch :D Or pay a little more and get a custom.
