I'm just looking for some feedback on these(or any Klotzli),before I purchase.I guess I'm wondering if they're worth their $250+ price tag.:o

How's the overall F&F on Klotzlis? Is the action buttery smooth?Lock-up?
Also,how's their ATS-34 perform?

Thanks for any info

I don't own a Klotzli knife, but everything I've heard about them has been positive. Here's some background info on the company:

Klotzli Knives of Switzerland is a 154 year old company known internationally for producing "upscale working folders" of cutting-edge design. Each knife utilizes the custom quality materials such as 440C stainless steel, carbon fiber, titanium and G-10.

The Klotzli line of knives are designed by two ultra-modern custom knifemakers - Michael Walker of USA and Christian Wimpff of Germany. You can see the similiarity in design, artistic creation and mechansim that these two knifemakers are famous for. A custom folder from Wimpff or Walker starts at $1400 and moves up.

Peter Klotzli, a fifth generation knifemaker, personally watches over the production and individualy checks each knife that leaves his workshop of three knifemakers.

Thanks bld522:thumbup:

I like this part the best.

it gets mentioned in threads along with CRK and WH, so the build quality must be there. I've seen them in knife shops, but never asked to handle one :foot:

My father has a CHW-M1. CF handled , 440c, black coated, serrated sheepsfoot blade, A Wimpff design,
it glides open smoothly with a flick to the small one sided thumbstud, right now id say this one is a hair short from a full on lock up, one sided titanium linerlock. nice glossy CF handles, and a one sided TIP-UP pocket clip

IMO id carry it if i ever need a "dress knife", but youd never catch me ordering one. =p

I owned a Sarra for a time, and the quality was outstanding. I ended up selling it to fund another interest (Sebenza of course), but it still left a very favorable impression with me. I'd say the fit and finish is very close to CR level, with perhaps one or two very small issues that I would have liked to change. The Walker-style liner lock had a bit of a sharp edge to it and I didn't care for the pocket clip design. Those were the only complaints I could make, and I'd probably buy another if the timing and price were right.

My wife years ago took my daughter with her on a business trip to Davos Switz. Anyways she went into the Klotzli store and bought me a Koltzli knife. You absolutely won't believe how much she paid for it but it was A LOT! So don't carry the knife but it is well made and has been sitting in my sock drawer in the box for 10 yrs. It is very very well made and extremely lt. weight and it seems very durable. It is about a 3.25" clip point. keepem sharp

Yes, what you've heard is true. I've owned a few over the years and they are excellent knives - first rate quality.

I have 5 Klötzlis (Walker 03, 05, 06 and 2 Sailor variants) and they are all very very precisely made and lovingly finished. Since a short while I now also have a small Sebenza Insingo, and the Klötzli is in my perception on the same precision level, and in fact nicer finished (sunk screws, polished and sandblasted titanium in the same handle). The Sebenza is more heavy duty, yet the Klötzli should give years of pleasure as well.
Action on all is heavy and smooth at the same time - gives a real precision feel.
Lock up on all of mine is perfectly aligned at the left when new.
Steel is largely good enough for my general tasks.

Thanks for all the replies everyone.I'm convinced they're of the finest quality.:)

I'm going to pull the trigger on that WT1-C.

Please feel free to post some personal pics of your Klotzlis.

Not sure if you bought the Klotzli or not but these are excellent knives. I was introduced to HP Klotzli by Anne Reeve last year. He is a sincere gentleman that takes great pride in his work. That goes a long way with me. The kicker is he does produce a fine piece of work. Not sure about other dealers, but ours are imported directly from his shop in Switzerland.

HP Klotzli has always made very high quality knives. He built our early Walker folder. The first to use carbon fiber (from the Sauber race team), a 2nd generation Titanium Walker Linerlock, phosphor bronze bushing, all back in the early 90's.
