KLR 650 owners

the other cycle thread got me thinking about one of these bikes. i have been wanting one for a few years now but am not sure about it. i didnt want to highjack that other thread. so you guys that do own one what do you think about them? thanks for any info.

I have a '99 and found it to be a great bike. It does nothing perfectly, yet everything ok. It's doable off-raod, but not to harsh off-road. It'll zoom down the freeway if you really want that. Logging roads and the two-lane backroads are a dream.

It's is a great sort-of general purpose bike.

I reaqlly like my bike. We were having our first child and had to choose one bike to last me a long time. The KLR meets all my needs.
