IIRC, Alcas and Case are one in the same, from a semi merger of Alcoa Aluminum and WR Case and Sons.
They owned Union Cutlery Company (KA-BAR) around '76, if my sources (blade magazine and various websites) are correct, and that was near the end of Alcas owning the KA-BAR name.
Not hating or trolling as much as trying to get solid information. Toooj, maybe chime in here?
Sorry for your loss, he will live on in the hearts of everyone who reads this thread.

BTW this thread was started by Nutoknives, his first few posts got deleted. All credit goes to him.

hey nutoknives, how would you say the ck knives stacked up as users? were they intended more for display/gun safe? or if someone took a shine to a particular knife, they could take it and actually cut stuff with it on a daily basis?

All the knives that I have can be used as user's, and with the amount you find on the bay you can get alot of them for less than they originally sold for. I have recently acquired quite a bit from the bay and will be setting some adrift, My cousin had quite a few double's as he liked to have his safe queen and when he took a shine to a knife he would have a double. Most knives made by queen and case and Ka-bar kept eye on quantity and quality, the knives are some real nice one's with Kabar trying to reproduce some of the old production knive's from the real early day's. Just waiting for someone to post the 1st knife as I have not been able to locate as of yet. If you like knive's you should like this thread and I will start another with some 1 of a kind Ka-bar's I was able to attain from an ex- Ka-bar employee. I really wanted to see you reprofile that Heavy bowie maybe I will try it on mine it reminds me of the 4051 Dozier drop-point just a bit larger.

thanks for the info. Yeah, the HB reprofile would have taken me months to get to and then would have been a disaster. We're all better off without me trying :)

Just wanted to keep nok's thread clean, and give us a spot to chat about the old ones.

Thanks Moose and everyone will get a chance to share their photo's, like's, dislikes, and see a bunch of really nice knive's with all sorts of shapes , handle materials, spanning 30 year's with a couple of 1st Run's available to club member's only. Thanks for the help and the first club knife has been posted it is the 200th Anniversary USMC 0-1500, later increased to a production of 2500.

Just want to let everyone know all info I have has been found either online or directly from Ka-Bar Material's, also any photo's not taken by myself will be clearly stated and noted were I found the photo's. Hope everyone enjoys and please post photo's of the current knife only as we will try to keep in order. So everyone with a 200th Anniversary USMC post them photo's and Thanks for Looking

KEEP EM SHARP

Was waiting for a post to the forum thinking there must be a Marine out there somewhere with this knife, As of today still no post if anyone has the knife or know's someone with this knife please post photo as I wanted a photo from a BF Member or myself for each knife in the collection and do not want to move foward till we get one.

OK, You are about the amass a list of over hundred Ka-Bar Collectors Limited edition knives with photos?
Excellent plan, ambitious, good luck to you
Will help with a couple of them, when they come up, but I admit, I did lose interest in the series early, due to multiple issues every year ( except 1977)

Oh my gosh wow that one is really really slick!

I see a few of these on ebay, some quite nice. If only I hadn't just bought a Great Eastern Conductor... it immediately made me lose interest in owning any other slipjoints :(

1978 Saw Ka-Bar release 3 knive's the 1st being another USMC serialized with production of 1500 with a COA and another nice wood box for storage if anyone does have please post photo's in the upper thread Thank You and hope you all enjoy and share your photo's of the knive's everyone has as they come up.
BRL alot of these example's can be found at reasonable cost as most collector's are either passing on or do not know what knive's are part of the collection sorry did not answer above but trying to keep the above post in stickies as a refference for people in the future.

I'm sorry to say that I have no collector's club knives, and it looks like it may be entirely up to you nutoknives as far as carrying this forward. But for what it's worth, I am enjoying your photos and posts quite a bit. I see a lot of great looking folders that I want to immediately take out and use, which might be some kind of blasphemy :D

Moved your posts out, BRL. No offense intended, but nut and I want to keep that thread as clean as possible, we are hoping to archive all the collection in one spot, so I'll modify it as we go, to keep the knives in order, and free of other posts. We got this one here, though, brudda.

No worries at all, I don't think I was paying enough attention to what you guys were doing.

No worries, just didn't want to look like an ass. I do that enough as it is on accident, so since in making it look like it was on pupose. :D

The knives are all user's some for cutting, some for carry only, other's for EDC, as you will see most are for photo's only as there are some real rare one's with a very limited run. All were suppose to have a limited run but Ka-bar saw fit to open and extend run if enough interest for a given knife but most were kept to the limit as first stated in the Collector's Club Mailing's. The 1st knife of collection initial run 1500 extended to 2500. The second knife initial run 3500 then openned to 7500 as much interest as a Bicenntennial doghead knife. Moose will keep it clean and thanks for the comment's hope everyone enjoy's as this was a task to say the least and dedicated to my cousin Warren (USN, CIA) RIP.

You have a beautiful collection of very beautiful knives, nutoknives. Thank you for sharing them.

All that lovely stag is making me drool! :D

Thanks Hawaiianhawk,

The knive's are a nice example of the old style's that were produced many year's ago and sound's like they may start making some more. Stag seem's to be popular amoung many of the knive's and that is fine with me, as stag is a favorite of mine and the 1199 being just a real nice knife to hold, carry, use, and always a pleasure to show. Glad you like and lot's more to come as there must be over 100 Knive's with plenty more stag to come.

Will need help with the next two knive's of the collection the knives are the DH83 and the DH84 very similar to the 1977 serialized set with 1 single blade and 1 double both with jigged brown bone with the dogs head Shield Thanks for the help
If you have either or both please post photo's in top thread
