Wow is all I can say. I was more than ecstatic when I found out that the KLVUK was going to be mine, and even more exited today to find what else was in the box. First I pulled out the KLVUK, a beautiful knife in and of itself, and it looks like it'll be a mean chopper. I think Phillll might be a reincarnation of billy Mays though, because all I could hear was "But wait, there's more!". Clipped to the KLVUK's packaging was a small knife, and it's a CRKT Patton. But that wasn't all, there was something all the way at the end of the packaging and it was none other than a Mora. All I can say is thank you, and I can't say it nearly enough, but this is far more than I bargained or beckoned for. Also much thanks to Bawanna of whom entered a bid in for me, and to those of you who pulled for me, without you I don't think I'd have these three amazing knives in hand on this lovely Saturday morning.

So thus, behold an overzied image from my Iphone!

That Mora reminds me something similar I had when I was a kid.

Do these floats (red tip up, making them easier to spot)?

I don't think it floats, the red is just a plug for the grip. Plus it isn't stainless steel.

Used the KLVUK a bit today, and it chops like a monster. I'm a little scared haha. Processed some very, very, seasoned Maple today to start the forge up. Using the other two to do a bit of carving on my latest forged (ugly as heck) masterpiece's handle.

Hey Darth that Mora should do just the trick for wood carving. The scandi grind is amazing for that sort of thing. Easy to sharpen, too.

Philll! You should put a white beard and stash on that big fat fox squirrel. Darth just had another Christmas! Congrats Darth! WTG Philll! Another possible Khuk addict!

I have heard nothing but good things about mora knives, are they really the bees knees?

From what bit I've used it for carving, they're more than the bees knees. I got the handle roughly shaped so quick even I could hardly believe it.

Good stuff!

I entered that as well, though I did not "need" one. I have a KLO (Busse KzII). I will have to try out a real one some time to try the real deal.

Congrats!

Yes Gehazi, they are amazing. I replaced the one I sent to Darth with a laminated woodcarving version a while ago, the core is something like 60-62 HRC. Scary sharp doesn't even begin to describe it.

HRC60-62? Seriously a blade for holding a sharp edge. That would be very brittle though, don't try to flex any lines with it.

Moras are great and hair popping sharp out of the box, but the edge geometry is difficult to fix when it gets a nick in it. You can't beat 'em for 10-15 bucks though. I've got a Robust and a Triflex floating around somewhere.

I love it, I really do. All three knives are more than great. The Patton is a nice one to slip in the pocket, the Mora is an amazing Carver, and dear god the KLVUK processed an entire blown down frozen pine. Still need to split it though.

Hehe, careful with that KLVUK on frozen wood. Just had a post go round about proper uses and frozen those can get really hard.

Dude you keep chopping like that and you wont need anything to keep ya warm! Im so glad you got that KLVUK! Ive heard a lotta good about them Moras but never owned one. Maybe I should check em out?

Been avoiding knots, limbing it first, and making sure each cut is good. I Take a file to correct any minor dings that have happened, and I've only had two that I didn't notice until they caught in the light. It's only really frozen near the base where it snapped off to about five feet up from that. Most of it is just...dead.
