KMFR sheath available for $20 each

Koshkin, did you send auntie an email. That's what really counts.

Nice!
Got one of these a few days back and really liking the rough black layer.
How is this achieved? Looks thicker and more durable than rust bluing.
If there's no disadvantage I would like all Kukris to look like that.

That black stuff is scale. Normally it's ground/buffed off. Like yourself, I love the look of it. I've got a Farm Knife, Himalayan Imports Survival Knife, and KLVUK sporting it. I'd love to see a 13-14" villager Pen Knife with Asare wood handle come down the pipe with that's scale-on finish.

Yep, I like it too. It's a form of iron oxide, Fe3O4 aka Ferric Oxide (different from another form of iron oxide typically found in red rust, Fe203 aka Ferrous Oxide). I've heard that this black layer inhibits rust.

It's also typically left on expensive Swedish axes like this one:

I got an email from her last week. She's swamped with the new shop and new manager at the same time. Yangdu is a great lady to deal with - she's just buried right now folks.

Auntie - very inspirational story. Cudos to the young Gurkha officer, and wishes for a full and quick recovery.
