Newbee posting for the first time here.
Any info on this LB-1SC would be appreciated.
Thanks, ozzie

1983 is right for the Running Rabbit Lockback Cub LB-1 SC <Scrimshaw>Schrade described as" simulated whale tooth Delrin handle".
This was the first of the LB1's in the Schrade Great American Outdoors Series which continued to 1996.
1984 = 511 SC=Chipmunk
1985 = 511SC =Raccoon
These three can be seen MIB on page 16 of 18 of my corner in lrv's site.
Levines 4th Edition states 1986 =Opossum,1987 =Frog, 1988 =Weasel with no further issues until 1992 =Squirrel,1993 =Woodcock, 1994 =Scorpion.
I personally have only seen 83,84,and 85. Has anyone got the Scorpion for example??
If you wish to view go to Schrades R Us...Collectors Corner, Larry H Downunder..and wade thru my collection to page 16,Good Luck!. Hoo Roo
Welcome Ozzie bet this isnt the last Schrade you will' have to have' mate.

Welcome, Ozzie! Nice little knife you got there! I'm kind of partial to the LB1 and it's variants. It's just such at "cute" little knife.:D

Larry, I have both the scorpion and the frog patterns, (will try to get some pics soon) but haven't seen the raccoon, weasel or the woodcock.

Dave

Would like to see them Dave.My poor little LB 1 on my car keys ring is borrowed by everyone in my office quite often fighting way above its weight.No one will carry a knife yet they all have a need for one at least once daily..go figure human nature! I have another dozen LB1's waiting if this one ever breaks.
Whats a woodcock?..is that similar to a large slender bird we have here in Oz called a splinterdick??
The raccoon 1985 is on my 'corner' if you want to see one. Hoo Roo.

Our stubby Woodcock packs a nice leather punch for a beak.

Larry, as you requested, here are the pics of my frog and scorpion 511SC's.

The scorpion one just needs cleaned up. Still has dried oil residue on the blade, as you can see.
